Rio Serrano : transport : directions

The campsite is situated in the Rio Serrano area, just outside the Torres del Paine National Park. 51º07' latitude 73º10' longitude.

By Car
Take the road from Puerto Natales towards the Torres del Paine National Park. You need to drive right through the park passing the Lago Sarmiento on your left and Nordenskjold on your right.

Keep going past Lago Pehoe and past the Explora Hotel. Finally you reach the Park Administracion where there is a right-hand turning towards Lago Grey - don't turn right - continue straight on. The road runs over a pampas area and then over a large bridge crossing the Rio Serrano. The road turns steeply right and up above the whole of the Rio Serrano area.

Continue along this bumpy road until you descend back downhill. At the end of this you come to a large pampas area. Turn left across the pampas towards the large hills (there is no road now!) and you will be able to pick out 2 white buildings with red roofs. This is Camping Rio Serrano. Come to the house in the middle for details of where to pitch your tent.

By Bus
Catch the bus from Puerto Natales until you reach the Administracion. This is the last stop before the bus turns round and heads back to Puerto Natales. The bus driver can tell you when to get off. From the Administracion you can radio Camping Rio Serrano and we can pick you up.
