Rio Serrano : food : introduction

At the campsite there are several options for food. We offer basic food supplies on-site such as bread, rice, packet soup, coffee, powdered milk, wine, chocolate etc.

We can also provide packed lunches. These normally include: sandwiches, cake, energy bar, water, fruit and nuts. Packed lunches can be made as a vegetarian option.

Further to this we do two speciality Chilean lamb dishes:

The first is the traditional Asado. This delicious barbequed lamb is whole. Cooked over a fire for approximately 4 hours whilst being basted with a special blend of herbs and spices this dish will serve up to 10 people. Served with salad and potatoes.

The second and equally delicious meal is the Parrillada. Available for a minimum of 4 people, lamb cuts are marinated in herbs, spices and salt and cooked in oil over an open fire on a traditional iron dish. Absolutely delicious! Served with salad and potatoes.

We sell typical Chilean wine which makes a great accompaniment to an unforgettable meal!

The lamb we use are our own. Raised on the farm in a stress-free lifestyle, they are well looked after and are left to graze naturally on the surrounding pampas area. Every day they roam free and at night are rounded up and put in a sheltered enclosure.
